Tinicum Township

Tinicum Township lies along the Delaware River in southern Upper Bucks County. Erwinna, Ottsville, and part of Pipersville are within the township. Tinicum was formed from Plumstead Township in 1738, and is bounded by the river, Bridgeton and Nockamixon Townships in the north, and the Tohickon Creek, which separates it from Plumstead and Bedminster townships to the south and west. Tinicum resident Edward Marshall, by reputation the best foot traveler in the colonies, was one of the walkers who made the "Penn’s Purchase Great Walk" in 1737.

Tohickon Valley County Park and Tinicum County Park are located in Tinicum Township along with three of the county's covered bridges: Uhlerstown Covered Bridge on Hill Road, Erwinna Covered Bridge on Geigel Hill Road, and Frankenfield Covered Bridge on Cafferty Road.
