Doylestown Borough

Doylestown Borough started life as an Inn built by William Doyle in the mid-eighteenth century. The growing village became County Seat in 1813. With the continuing suburbanization of Central Bucks County, the Borough has become a center for commerce as well as the legal hub of the County.

Doylestown Borough is the site of the James A. Michener Art Museum, housed in the renovated Bucks County Prison. Nearby is the Bucks County Free Library Center, and the Bucks County Historical Society, which operates the Mercer Museum and Fonthill Museum.
